Kay Lawrence will be speaking on 'The Pain of Shame - the Imposter Complex'.

Shame is an insidious and powerful feeling that distorts our sense of self and leaves us believing we are defective. Kay will look at healthy shame vs toxic shame, the manifestations of shame and how to change the script.

Kay is a highly experienced counsellor and clinical supervisor, working with patients both one on one and in groups. Her special interests lie in addiction, adult survivors of childhood abuse, self-esteem, core shame, and 'inner child' therapeutic work. She was the core facilitator on a BACP-accredited training for nine years and continues to design and deliver workshops and seminars in the public and private sectors. Kay has set up and rolled out pop-up counselling services for charities and churches since 2010, offering free and low cost psychotherapy in Central London.
